  • What role does blockchain have in your work?

  • What are the opportunities for social and environmental impact enterprises

  • How is it being used at the moment and what does it mean for the non-techies in this community?

Here’s your chance to have conversations with humans who are entrenched in the industry and hear:

  • what they are doing,
  • how they are using the technology,
  • find out what the future holds and how it may impact you, and
  • explore the opportunities available for you…

Come along and join us for our second-speed mentoring event for 2018. We’ve asked several speakers to be mentors for this month’s meeting. So far we’re pleased to announce:

  • Nichola Cooper – MiVote
  • Jamie Skella – Horizon State
  • Lizzie Mettam – Think5678
  • Ellie Rennie – RMIT University
  • TBA????

How do these events work?

  • Casual networking (15 mins)
  • Introduction to the process, Moral Fairground and the sponsors
  • Speed Networking (20-30 mins) make new connections – each conversation will be five minutes, and you’ll have two minutes to speak and two minutes to listen
  • Don’t worry we’ll keep track of the time and let you know when it is time to change
  • Conversations with Mentors for 60 minutes every 10-15 mins each mentor will move to a group and open the discussion – with a set topic
  • Casual Networking continues

Why are we introducing Speed Networking?

  • It is a fun way to meet a lot of people in a very short time and introduce yourself to them and practice your story.
  • Sometimes we may give you a question to answer – for example,
  • What is it you do and why?
  • Practice your pitch, or
  • what is an ethical enterprise?

What is Speed Mentoring?

  • When we have run this format in the past – it’s been amazing how animated the conversations have been.
  • Fun, educational, informative and insightful are just a few words we received from the feedback.
  • Each mentor will set a topic for the evening. They will present the issue to a group and start the conversation, after 10-15 minutes they will move onto the next group and start again.
  • This is an opportunity for each group to meet each mentor to discuss a very specific topic. Conversations are a fantastic way to gain insight from others and share our knowledge and the lessons we have learnt from our experiences.

The focus of this networking event is to meet like-minded people, get to know who is out there trying to change the world, and to build relationships. It’s not about making a quick sale.
